Welcome to the Substance Homeschool Co-op!
God is moving in powerful ways at Substance and we are so excited for you to be part of this new chapter. Our vision is for this co-op to provide Christ-centered supplemental education and social experiences for our homeschool students, while also building a strong community for homeschool parents right here in our church.
Here is some important information about what this homeschool co-op will look like:
WHEN: Starting September 15th, the co-op will meet every Thursday morning with breaks for holidays. Instruction will run 9am - 12pm followed by a brief group wrap-up time. An optional lunch time after will be hosted for those who can stay.
WHO: Classes will be available for students in Pre-K through 8th grade. For children younger than 4, you will be able to bring them to our childcare room for an additional fee.
WHAT CLASSES: The current plan is to offer 3 subjects each morning for students in grades 1st - 8th: Spanish, Science, and Creative Arts. Classes will also be offered for Nursery and Pre-K / K. You will sign your child up for the entire morning (3 hours) and he or she will cycle through all three classes with their age group. Current groups are 1st-2nd, 3rd-5th, 6th-8th, but may be adjusted based on enrollment.
WHERE: Substance Church, Northtown Campus in Spring Lake Park, MN
TUITION: $600 / year per student plus a $35 supplies fee per student. There is also a $50 registration fee per family.
If you register more than one child, there are tuition breaks: 10% off for 2 children, 20% off for 3 children, 30% off for 4 children, etc.)
As this is a co-op, each family will be asked to serve and be a part of our community! We encourage Parents and Guardians to prayerfully consider how they can best use their skills, talents, and passions in a way that blesses the group. Examples of volunteer roles include: set up, tear down, cleaning, prayer team, field trip coordinator, etc. In addition, parents and guardians are expected to serve approximately 6 hours per year as a classroom helper assisting the teacher.
At least one parent / guardian will need to remain on site, as this is NOT a drop-off program. We will be providing enrichment and refreshment opportunities for parents during their time on campus by way of speakers, prayer, coffee, discussion, etc. This integral part of our co-op will be so exciting as parents will be able to develop relationships too!
Please click on ENROLL above to officially communicate your interest and secure your spot this fall. Once you do, we will be in touch to discuss registration and tuition payments.
If you have any questions at all, please reply to this email or connect with one of the members of the leadership team. We are eager to see how God is going to move in and through this co-op, and we look forward to experiencing that with YOU!
