Substance Homeschool Update
Welcome to August! Can you believe the school year is just around the corner?? I hope your summer has been awesome. On behalf of the leadership team, thank you for your interest in being part of this new community. We hope you are as excited as we are for what God is going to do this school year through the new Homeschool Co-op at Substance!
Launch Date and Welcome Gathering
The new co-op will be launching on Thursday, September 15th at 9am! This first week will be a 60-90 minute welcome gathering where students will have a chance to meet teachers, and parents/guardians will have a chance to meet with the leadership team. Academic Calendar Instruction will begin the next week, Thursday, September 22nd from 9am - 12:30pm and will be weekly through May 18th with breaks for holidays, MEA week, and Spring Break. A full calendar will be posted online this weekend.
Online Enrollment If you haven't already done so, please check out our website www.SubstanceHomeschool.com and submit your information through the online form. That will assist us with getting a clearer idea of the number of families and students who are interested in participating.
Enrollment Deadlines If you are on board with joining the co-op, please enroll online by the end of August. However, we know that for some families the initial welcome gathering on 9/15 might be the best opportunity to get any remaining questions answered and ultimately decide if they want to participate. That is totally fine! Initial tuition payments will not be due until the first day of instruction (9/22). So if you are on the fence and need more information, please still fill out the online form, reply to this email with any questions, and then join us on 9/15 for the welcome gathering.
Courses and Teachers
We have some amazing teachers lined up for the co-op this fall in areas of Pre-K/K, Science, and Creative Arts. We are still in need of a teacher for Spanish and someone to lead the Nursery program. If you know of someone who would be a great fit to help lead in either of those areas, please reply with their information right away.
How You Can Help!
We are believing in faith that God will provide all that we need to make this a great co-op and invite you to be in prayer with us as we continue with preparations and move closer to the kick-off. More information will be sent out in the coming weeks regarding volunteer needs throughout the school year, but feel free to reply to this email with your specific interests and how you feel led to participate.
Thank you again for being part of this exciting new community! We will work to send out regular updates in the coming weeks to keep all families up to speed. As always, don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or thoughts.
Blessings,
Rick Frith
and the Substance Homeschool Leadership Team
